Biodiversity is recognised by the Council as an essential element in the creation and preservation of  a healthy, beautiful and rich environment for our residents to live in.

This understanding is reflected in the ‘Naturally Better’ motto of  the City.

We are committed to protecting the biodiversity of  plants, animals and ecological communities that have existed
since before European settlement —  as well as acting to restore biodiversity in a now changed and developed landscape.
