NBN will be available in Our City

NBN Co has announced first and second release (trial) sites for the implementation of high speed broadband. Our City's regional centre, Modbury, is one of these second release sites and fibre optic cable is expected to be installed and available to 18 100 Modbury premises in the NBN Modbury Fibre Servicing area, starting from March 2013.

We are working with a range of partners to bring the benefits of the NBN to you. Announcements regarding what services and programs the NBN will enable in our City will be promoted in the upcoming months. This is an exciting time for our City and what we will deliver as a result of the NBN implementation will innovate the services we offer.

Our role in the NBN roll out

We are working closely with NBN Co and key stakeholders on the roll out of the NBN in our City. We are committed to developing initiatives and programs that will leverage benefits attached to the roll out of the high speed network. This is an exciting time for our City and we will take an active role in informing the community of all the opportunities that will become available as a result of the NBN.

We are providing support to the roll out of the NBN in the following key areas:

• Planning
• Building services that will capitalise on the benefits of the NBN and showcases the power of the network
• Providing relevant information and training to our community
• Assisting NBN Co and the Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy to connect with our community
• Developing partnerships and delivering programs for our business community.
