We are always working hard to provide a better, safer and cleaner environment so that everyone has an enjoyable experience. To help us, please read the following pool rules. Our staff and management may ask anyone not following the rules to leave the centre.
Water safety
Water safety is very important to us. Waterworld is a ‘Watch around Water’ endorsed centre and it’s our staff’s duty to make sure that all visitors follow the rules:
Children under 5 years:
- MUST be under constant supervision of an appropriate person (16 years or older) at all times while in the centre
- MUST be within arms reach of an appropriate adult while in the water at all times including the toddler pool
Children under 10 years:
- MUST be constantly supervised by an appropriate adult at all times while in the centre
- MUST be within clear view while in the water with no physical or structural barriers between an appropriate adult and the child
Children 13 years and under:
- MUST be accompanied by an appropriate adult at all times while in the centre
Children 14 to 15 years:
- Can come to the centre without an adult, however they must show their proof of age or student card at reception before being allowed in
Swimming ability
- No floatation devices are allowed at the deep end of the main pool
- People of any age who have limited swimming ability and are using a floatation device must be accompanied in the water by a responsible person
- People with limited swimming ability who are not using a floatation device must stay where they can comfortably stand
Safety on the waterslides
- Floatation devices are not allowed on the waterslide at any time
- Children must be at least 1 metre tall to ride the waterslides
- Sliders must lie down on their backs with their feet first
- Children that need to be accompanied can only go down the curly slide with an appropriate adult and must be at least 1 metre tall; and both riders must have the appropriate slide pass
- No jewellery, watches, locker keys or clothing studs are allowed on the slides
Queuing for waterslides
During busy times the queues may have a longer than normal wait time. Please line up and be patient. Private birthday parties get priority to bypass the line, but do filter in with the public at the top.
Swimwear
It is important to wear appropriate swimwear for many reasons, these include:
- Safety – T-shirts and street clothing can become heavy when they fill with water. This can restrict movement and drag you under water
- Hygiene
- Water quality – denim material shrinks in water and can lose some of its dye in chlorinated water affecting water quality
Acceptable swimwear
- Racing bathers
- Synthetic swimming clothing including tights, costumes or full body suits made from nylon, lycra or polyester
- Rash vests
- Board shorts
- Football shorts
- Appropriate swimmer nappies for those not toilet trained
Unacceptable swimwear
- Street wear
- Denim
- Cut off trousers
- Underwear
- Anything with studs that may scratch the slide
- Ordinary nappies for those not toilet trained
Important rules of entry
- No smoking within the centre, please ask at reception for the designated smoking area
- No alcohol is allowed within the centre or to be consumed before arriving. If staff believe you have been drinking you will not be allowed to enter the centre
- No glass, porcelain or ceramics are allowed, if they break they can cut bare feet. Please make sure that your baby food, dips, sauce or oil bottles are in plastic containers
- No portable barbecues
- No electrical equipment is allowed to be plugged in unless authorised by management
- Due to underground irrigation pipes, no pegs or stakes can be used for shade structures or tents. Water weights can be used
- Private coaching is prohibited
