Please notify us by email or phone (08) 8397 7444 if your dog is deceased, been sold, given away or you have moved address within our Council.
All dogs aged 3 months or over, living on the property longer than 14 days must be registered with Council.
Dog registrations expire on the 30 June each year and payments for registration renewal can be made between 1 July and 31 August.
A $10 late fee applies if re-registering your dog after 31 August.
If you have moved address within the City you must complete a Change of Address form.
If you are registering a dog for the first time, an Application for Dog Registration form must be completed. The form is in triplicate, it can be forwarded to you by post or downloaded. If you choose to download the registration form all 3 pages must be completed and returned with your payment. When registering for the first time, proof must be provided to claim microchipping, desexing, training and pensioner concessions.
All dogs registered for the first time between 1 April and 30 June, the fee payable is half the yearly fee.
If you are registering a puppy that is under 3 months of age as at 1 January, the registration fee payable is half the yearly fee.

On occasion we may provide a refund for dog registration fees. An application must be lodged for consideration by us. We are not obliged to refund all applications however if granted, a letter of confirmation is forwarded to you. The refund conditions are outlined on the application form.
Council's By-Law 4 - Dogs - limits the number of dogs kept on premises and manages and control dogs in the Council area.
A person must not, without the Council's permission keep:
More than one (1) dog in a small dwelling;
More than two (2) dogs in premises other than a small dwelling.
