Hard rubbish is material that is too heavy and too big to put in your domestic waste bin.
It is your responsibility to arrange for your hard rubbish to be collected.
Residents are entitled to two free pickups between 1 May - 30 April each year.
Bookings must be made prior to putting your hard refuse out for collection.
To make a booking, please call Solo Resource Recovery on (08) 8295 5077.
This collection service accepts garden prunings which will not fit in the green organics bin (garden prunings must be bundled and tied and branches should only be up to a maximum trunk diameter of 150mm and a maximum length of 1.5m); metal items and other hard refuse.
Hard refuse must in total be smaller than 2m3 and be able to be lifted by two people. Materials are separated and recycled at our waste recovery centre. Collections work on an 8-week cycle however delays may occur at peak times such as Christmas/New Year, spring etc.
Note! Other disposal options exist for goods such as TVs and stereos, VHS and DVD players, electrical kitchen appliances, computers and printers, to ensure all components are recycled to avoid landfill - see our Electronic Waste page for more information.
