View the video played at the Launch, showcasing what the Digital Hub is all about and the positive impact it's having on the local community.
The National Broadband Network (NBN) is rolling out across Australia and Modbury is scheduled to be connected in 2013.
The City of Tea Tree Gully has been awarded a Federal Government grant to build a Digital Hub within the Library as part of the Federal Digital Hubs program to utilise the benefits of superior internet speeds provided by the NBN.
The Modbury Digital Hub is now the place for you to engage in the digital experience, with a focus on digital literacy for the community in the areas of education, communication, health and entertainment.
The Digital Hub demonstrates the benefits the NBN has to offer to the community and local business.
What is the Digital Hub?
The Digital Hub is the community’s access point to a range of NBN capable devices such as computers, both Apple Mac and PC, iPads and android tablets and a smart television, with a focus on education and developing digital literacy. The Hub features a specially designed digital Discovery Zone and the redeveloped Library Training Room is used for group training sessions.
Training and assistance is provided by staff and volunteers, who can demonstrate and assist with the new technologies.
Digital Hub Training Program - now up and running!
With our updated Training Room and Discovery Zone, the Library provides a comprehensive training program, of approximately twenty one-on-one sessions and five group training sessions per week.
These sessions feature a range of topics, with a focus on online engagement, bridging the gap between those who are confident with the technology and those who are not, in our increasingly digital society.
Hands-on and group sessions cover topics including email, banking and bill paying, online shopping, Facebook, health, Skype, job seeking, online safety, getting started with the NBN and more.
The Discovery Zone is available for other one-on-one and small group sessions using NBN enabled devices like webcams, laptops, Mac computers, iPads, and Android tablets.
See the Modbury Digital Hub Training page for details of our training program.

The Library has recently subscribed to a new online resource, Zinio, which allows library users to read current, popular magazines in full colour digital format on a PC, Mac, iphone, ipad, android device or tablet via a browser or app.
