The Library Access Service (LAS) offers assistance to library patrons who may have difficulty in visiting the Library Service. This service provides people with the option of having the Library brought to their door, or receiving assistance to enable a visit to the Library.
We acknowledge at the City of Tea Tree Gully Library that some of our patrons are unable to make their way comfortably to the library due to illness, age or other mitigating circumstances.
There are three main parts to Library Access Services:
The LAS housebound service is staffed by volunteers, and coordinated by Library team members. The Library provides qualified housebound patrons the opportunity to continue to utilise the resources of the Library Service. Volunteers are assigned to one or more housebound patrons who will visit their patrons once a month. The volunteer will come to the Library and make selections for their housebound client, deliver new items and collect returns to take back to the Library.
The criteria for acceptance for housebound service is as follows:
This service provides door-to-door pick up and drop off for patrons who require some assistance in coming to and from the Library. Once a month the Library Service has a Library Van doing a run through the area. This service occurs once a month and eligible Library patrons must make a booking with the LAS team. To be eligible for this service, Library patrons must meet the following criteria:
