Reconciliation Feature Garden

Introduction

Council asked the Reconciliation Sub-Committee to generate ideas for an Indigenous Recognition Project following the Prime Minister's formal apology to Australia's Aboriginal People in February 2008.

The Reconciliation Sub-Committee worked collaboratively with staff and members of the local Aboriginal community to develop ideas for this project with Council finally deciding upon the 'Reconciliation Feature Garden' concept in June 2009.

The garden was officially opened on Monday 25 October 2010.
