Green Waste

The kerbside green collection is offered to reduce the amount of green organic material entering the waste system. Instead, green waste is collected and processed into garden mulch and compost. This practice significantly reduces the amount of green organic material entering landfill.

What CAN be placed in your green bin

Light prunings
Grass Clippings
Leaves
Cut Flowers
Food scraps (loose or wrapped in newspaper) including:
- meat & seafood (cooked & raw)
- tea bags & coffee grounds
- egg & oyster shells
- dairy products
Shredded paper
Paper towels & tissues
Hair
Pet waste - in biodegradable bag or loose

What CANNOT be placed in your green bin

Ivy
Building materials
Rocks
Soil
Branches exceeding 15cm in diameter
Plastic bags

To order an additional green bin simply complete the application form. There is an annual service charge and residents will need to purchase the bin itself.
