Take your items to the Checkout Desk at the front of the Library with your library card. You must have your library card with you to be able to borrow at any of the One Card network libraries.
Staff will issue your items and give you a printed receipt with details of what you have borrowed and the due date for their return.
You can also use your card to borrow at any participating One Card Network library.
The Library also has a self-checkout unit, located adjacent to the Checkout Desk, which you can use to borrow books and magazines.
(Videos, DVDs, CDs, audio books and CD ROMs need to be taken to the Checkout desk for staff to issue.)
Simply follow the instructions on the display screen to check out your items.
Library staff will be happy to assist you.
A printed receipt is issued upon completion of your transaction, with details of what you have borrowed and the due date for their return.

We ask that you return borrowed items by the due date. Late returns may attract a charge.
Please return items through the return chutes at the Customer Service Desk or the 24-hour return chutes located on the external, eastern wall of the Library.
You can also return items to any other South Australian public library.

If you wish to have a little more time to finish using an item, please contact us close to the due date, either in person, by telephone on (08) 8397 7333 or by email at library@cttg.sa.gov.au.
Items can be renewed for two additional loan periods, provided the item has not been requested by another borrower.
You can also extend the items you have on loan yourself, as long as they are not overdue, by using the Library catalogue computers in the Library or by accessing your Library card on the online Library Catalogue.

If an item you want is out on loan at any library, a hold can be placed to reserve it for you.
(Please note there are some items that do not allow holds.)
You may have up to 30 items on hold at any one time.
You can place your own holds on items using the Library catalogue computers in the Library and via the online Library Catalogue.
Staff can assist with placing holds in the Library or by telephone on 8397 7333.
When the item is returned to the Library, you are notified by post, email or SMS that the item is available for pickup from our self-serve holds shelf.
Are you after a book which the Library doesn't have?
Through the Inter-Library Loans Service, the City of Tea Tree Gully Library can help you gain access to the book stock of all public libraries within South Australia. Books outside the public library network may be provided for a fee.
If you have any questions, please ask at the Information Desk or email us at library@cttg.sa.gov.au.
This enables everyone within the community to have access to our collections.

We welcome suggestions from borrowers that we purchase items which we currently do not have.
Staff at the Information Desk can fill out a Reader's Suggestion form, which is passed on to the relevant selector, who reserves the right to decide whether the item is suitable for inclusion in the Library's collection.
You may also send us your suggestions by submitting the Suggest We Buy form.

All items must be returned by their due date. We highly recommend that you keep your Check-out receipt when you borrow. Your receipt will be handed to you when your items are checked out, and lists the due dates of all of your items. You can also request to have SMS overdue reminders sent to your mobile phone.
If your items become 21 days overdue, a billing notice will be sent to you and you will be charged a $2.50 invoice fee (regardless of the number of items). Fees in excess of $30 must be paid before you can borrow again.
If your items are lost or damaged then you must pay for them in full or replace them with brand new items of a similar nature. Alternative arrangements for replacing lost or damaged items must be negotiated with the Library which owns the item.
A $5 processing fee per item will also apply.
The Library will engage a Debt Collection Agency to recover significant costs.
