Community Learning Centre

The Community Learning Centre provides a focal point for community learning opportunities and activities and reflects the Library's commitment to linking Leisure and Learning in the community. There are currently a range of groups and organisations that use the Community Learning Centre for monthly meetings, workshops, seminars, exercise activities, social networking and so on. Public Liability Insurance will be required for most activities, and each group must adhere to the set terms and conditions to ensure the space is used equitably and with respect at all times.

The Community Learning Centre is available for hire during Library Opening Hours.

Facilities

The Community Learning Centre is a lovely space, full of natural light with great views of Civic Park. It can be used as one larger room or divided into two rooms, LG1 & LG2.
Each room comes complete with three large rectangle tables and a set of 30 chairs.
A whiteboard is available in each room (users must supply their own whiteboard markers and dusters) and there is access to a Hearing Loop.
The room has automatic blinds and there is access to a kitchenette.

The kitchenette includes:

• Hot water for tea and coffee
• Bar refrigerator
• Microwave
• Limited supply of cutlery and crockery provided
• Users must bring their own supplies such as coffee, tea and milk

Fees

Local not-for-profit community groups can access the Community Learning Centre free of charge pending completion of the accreditation process. To receive accreditation, the organisation or group must be a non-profit group and based within the community of the City of Tea Tree Gully. The group/organisation must be able to demonstrate they are providing services that directly and significantly benefit the Community, or provide opportunity for community engagement through open membership in the quest for linking leisure and learning. Commercial and other service providers are welcome to book the Community Learning Centre.
The fee structure is listed below.

Room hire for maximum capacity of 70 people seated theatre style or 40 people classroom style.

• Hourly rate: $40
• $120 for half a day
• $215 for a full day

Room hire for maximum capacity of 30 people seated theatre style or 15 people classroom style.

• Hourly rate: $20
• $60 for half a day
• $110 for a full day

Small office style meeting room suitable for 2 to 5 people also available on request at a cost of $9 per hour.

To make a booking please download the CLC Permit 2013(50 kb) and forward to our Community Learning Centre Booking Officer. Applications are processed by the Community Learning Centre Booking Officer, who will then contact the applicant.
