During the consultation period from 24 January to 21 February 2018 we received 19 responses. The opportunity to provide feedback was promoted in the North Eastern Messenger, via social media posts, onsite signage and a personally addressed mailout to 132 property owners and residents located in the vicinity of the proposed lease area for the phone tower.
Of the 19 responses received, seven were in support of the proposal, 10 respondents opposed and two respondents were neutral.
At its meeting on Tuesday 27 March 2018, Council considered the feedback received from the community and made the decision to grant a 10 year lease, with two further options of five years each, to Visionstream Pty Ltd for a portion of land at 172-178 Lyons Road, for the purpose of the placement of a Telstra base station and associated infrastructure.

Council have received a request from Visionstream Pty Ltd, on behalf of Telstra Corporation Ltd to lease them a portion of council land off Lyons Road, (corner Chrysler Drive) at Holden Hill to accommodate a new telecommunications facility (mobile phone tower) to replace an existing facility nearby.
