‘Fund My Neighbourhood’ program

Decision/Outcome:

During the consultation period a total of 37 people provided feedback on a ‘Fund My Neighbourhood’ proposal to upgrade the Jubilee Reserve in Wynn Vale. All respondents were in support of the proposal.

At its meeting on Tuesday 10 April 2018 Council considered the Community Engagement Outcomes Report and made a decision to install a BBQ, shelter and unisex public toilet, as well as upgrade the existing playground at Jubilee Reserve in Wynn Vale. The location of the toilet is still to be determined and will be dependent on budget and the location of the required services (eg electricity, water and sewer).

Past consultation information:

The State Government ‘Fund My Neighbourhood’ Program is a $40 million participatory budgeting program that gives South Australians the power to nominate and vote for projects to improve their local neighbourhoods. Several projects within the City of Tea Tree Gully were successful in receiving funding.

One of these projects was awarded $150,000 for upgrades to Jubilee Reserve in Wynn Vale.

The planned upgrades for Jubilee Reserve include:

  • A wheelchair accessible, unisex public toilet
  • Installation of a BBQ and shelter
  • An upgrade to the existing playground to include additional play equipment suitable for older children (approximately 5-12 years)
