During the consultation period, a total of 35 people provided feedback on the proposed trial of opening the gates on Mary Avenue, Gilles Plains. A majority of the respondents indicated that they were a local resident/property owner.
Eleven respondents (31%) were in support of the proposal, twenty one (60%) were opposed and three (9%) indicated they have a neutral view.
At its meeting on Tuesday 8 May 2018, Council considered the feedback received from the community (including a petition lodged at Council) and made the decision not to undertake a three month trial of leaving the two sets of road gates on Mary Avenue open at all times.
