Get your rates notices electronically

Tea Tree Gully Council ratepayers can receive quarterly rates notices electronically via Council's portal to view, manage and pay their rates online.

See your latest rates notice for your registration details or use our contact form to request your registration details and sign up. 

BPAY View

Quarterly rate notices are sent straight to the same online bank you use to pay them. BPAY View website  

Follow three simple steps to sign up:

  1. Login to your online banking account
  2. Look for the BPAY View or View Bills section
  3. Register to receive your Tea Tree Gully Council rates notice

Late payments 

Rates become overdue if they are not paid by the due date on the rates notice. After that date, additional charges may apply.

Ratepayers who have difficulty meeting payments are invited to contact Council to discuss alternative payment arrangements. Such enquiries are treated confidentially.

Cost of living concession

The State Government has a cost of living concession for pensioners, low-income earners and retirees.

This concession is paid directly to eligible residents and will not appear as a reduction on rates notices. See www.sa.gov.au or call the ConcessionsSA Hotline on 1800 307 758 for information.

Change of address or ownership

Please advise us as soon as possible in writing or via email if your details have changed

Postponement of rates for seniors

Ratepayers who have a state Seniors Card are able to apply to Council to postpone payment of rates on their place of residence. Postponed rates remain as a charge on the land and are not required to be repaid until the property is sold or disposed of.

Discretionary rate rebate for independent living units and retirement villages

A 10% rebate will only be granted on the basis that the residents of the independent living units and/or retirement villages receive the benefit of the rebate.

Property valuations

Council adopts valuations made by the SA Valuer General.

To lodge a written objection to your valuation, please contact the Valuer General’s Office within 60 days of receipt of your first quarter rate notice. Rates are still due and payable by the due date even if an objection has been lodged.

Land use

Should you have any reason to believe that the land use category applied to your account is incorrect, you may lodge a written objection to Council outlining the grounds upon which your objection is based.

Differential rating

Council has adopted a differential rating system to apply to the capital value of a property. 

The differential rating system is applied as follows for 2023-2024: 

  • Rate in $ 0.00309030 Residential/Primary production and other
  • Rate in $ 0.00587157 Commercial/Industrial  
  • Rate in $ 0.00618060 Vacant land  
  • Minimum rate $1,372

Regional Landscape levy

The Regional Landscape levy is a State tax.
