A sewing success

Our Youth Connect group has delivered an initiative with the goal of giving back and making a positive difference to the community.

'Cuddle up Care' was the brainchild of Youth Connect where the community were asked to donate 15cm x 15cm knitted or crocheted squares. Upon receiving the squares, they were formed into blankets and donated to Woodleigh House, the Mental Health Unit at Modbury Hospital.

There was an outpouring of generosity from the community with hundreds of squares donated in July and August. Being completely inundated with squares, Youth Connect again reached out to the community to seek assistance in joining the squares together and a number of skilled volunteers answered the call.

To date, 16 blankets have been donated to Woodleigh House, with more still in the process of being finalised.

We would like to pass on our thanks to those who have assisted with this project.

Youth Connect is a program for those aged 16 to 25 years, to develop, plan and deliver events for youth in our City.
