Every financial year, as part of the Annual Business Plan, a selection of streets and reserves are chosen to receive new paved or concrete footpaths.

This initiative aligns with the Council’s long-term strategy to install footpaths on one side of the City’s streets where feasible.

Footpaths play a crucial role in our community by providing a safe pathway for pedestrians, whether they’re commuting or exercising.

We’re making significant progress in achieving this year’s footpath program, with many new footpaths already completed or currently under construction.

Sixteen streets have recently benefited from new footpaths, including Green Valley Drive in Greenwith, Ronald Road in Redwood Park, and Silverlake Crescent in Highbury.

Additionally, 13 more locations are scheduled to have new footpaths installed, with a 150-metre section along Haines Road in Banksia Park among them.

In addition to footpaths, Council manages a road improvement program aimed at enhancing road safety and the overall aesthetics of our City.

Four streets, including Karingal Road and Kanangra Road in Dernancourt, have been completed with new asphalt, kerbing and gutters.

We understand that these works can be disruptive, and we appreciate your patience during these improvement projects.
