Hyde Park Reserve is a ‘special purpose’ space enjoyed by local residents and the wider community.

Over time, the reserve infrastructure, roses and trees have deteriorated. While the new roses and plantings will take some time to become established, they will benefit the community for many years to come.

Works will take place between June and September 2024 and include;

  • Infrastructure repairs and replacement
  • Edging and footpath repairs
  • Removal of old roses and irrigation
  • Drainage improvements
  • Removal of conifer trees
  • Soil conditioning
  • Planting of new roses, trees and other plantings
  • Irrigation installation.

Twenty new rose species have been purposefully chosen to be planted in complimentary colours and groupings for aesthetic appeal. Star Jasmin will also be planted on the roof of the pergola and arbour to create a cascading effect over time.
