New LED floodlighting is on the way for Modbury Tennis Club and Tango Netball Club.

Works will begin in January 2022, costing $307,000.

The upgrades are being funded by Council ($112,000), State Government ($143,000), Tennis SA ($20,000) and the clubs ($32,000).

Ridgehaven based Modbury Tennis Club has over 140 members. The lighting upgrade for the club will meet an average of 350 lux, which is the standard for tennis competitions. Modbury Hawks Netball Club and its 260 members who utilise these courts for training will also benefit.

Tango Netball Club’s LED lighting upgrade will meet an average of 200 lux, the minimum standard for netball competition matches. Tango Netball Club is based on Hope Valley and has over 260 members.

The upgrades will provide a safer environment for night training and games for the club's growing membership bases and allow for extended hours of use at the facilities.
