New bridge means no more wet weather detours on Mulkarra Street

Published on 02 August 2022

Wet weather detours have become a thing of the past in Mulkarra Street, Ridgehaven.

A large concrete culvert is now in place to cope with creek flows, replacing a traditional ford that flooded during wet weather.

A new road, footpath, stormwater pipes, road lighting and traffic management improvements were also installed during this $890,000 upgrade by Tea Tree Gully Council.

“This will mean a lot for those who live in the area. The upgrade has made it safer and more convenient for drivers and pedestrians,” said Deputy Mayor Lucas Jones.

This project was funded through the Australian Government's Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.
