You can now stay a wee bit longer at River Torrens Linear Park with two new public toilets now open for business.

In response to public demand from park visitors and residents, accessible unisex toilets were installed in the park at Dernancourt and Highbury.

Local ultra-marathon runner Katie Mere is pleased to see toilets installed on the City of Tea Tree Gully section of the park for the first time.

“I run in Linear Park two to three times a week as I do a lot of running in my training. Having toilets is a game changer. I can stay on the City of Tea Tree Gully side, rather than needing to cross over to the other side. It’s really handy,” said Katie.

Each toilet block includes a baby change table, along with an exterior drinking fountain.

Mayor Marijka Ryan said the toilets were a significant addition to the park.

“Having the new toilets means people can explore our beautiful park with greater comfort and convenience.”

New public toilets were also installed this year at Solandra Reserve, Golden Fields Reserve, Edinburgh Reserve (including an accessible adult-size change table) and Lot 50, Golden Grove Road (Modbury Heights).

Public toilets in parks and reserves are open during daylight hours only.
