Re-establishing the Golden Grove Road wildlife corridor

New plantings along Golden Grove Road

About 350 trees have been planted to help re-establish the wildlife corridor along Golden Grove Road, between Kunzea Way and One Tree Hill Road.

The tree species will provide habitat for local native wildlife and eventually shade the footpaths for pedestrians.

More than 1,000 sedges and shrubs were also planted to improve biodiversity and stormwater management.

An automatic irrigation watering system using recycled water will water most of the new plants.

The plantings follow on from revegetation around the Hancock Road roundabout in early 2021.

The state government and Council funded the projects.
