Recipe for lemon bliss balls

Do you have an endless supply of lemons at home? 

If you live in a fruit fly outbreak area, once purchased or picked, you can’t move or share fruit and vegetables that are at risk from fruit fly.

But you CAN cook and then share what you make.

Karen’s lemon bliss balls


  • Grated zest from 1 lemon
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup desiccated coconut
  • 1 1/2 cups almond meal
  • 4 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 4 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup or rice malt syrup)
  • 1/2 cup desiccated coconut, extra


  • Place all ingredients into food processor. 
  • Blend for two minutes or until mixture has combined.
  • Roll into bite-sized balls and cover in extra coconut.
  • Store in refrigerator or freeze.
