Unauthorised bike jumps in conservation reserves

Published on 22 August 2022

Council has received notification of unauthorised bike jumps and tracks in some of our reserves.

They have been developed without approval in both conservation reserves and local parks.

These jumps pose a risk to the natural habitat of the area. Damage and erosion of local creek lines has also been found in these locations due to the jumps.

Safety risks for the community are also of concern.

Council will soon remove these jumps to allow for the natural habitat and creek lines to recover.

There are many places in the City of Tea Tree Gully to ride BMX and mountain bikes. Popular locations include Elliston Reserve, St Agnes Recreation Area (home of TTG BMX Club), Anstey Hill and Cobbler Creek.

If you notice unauthorised bike jumps in council reserves, please contact us.
