A $1.26 million upgrade of the Banksia Park Sports Area has been completed.

More than 20 jobs were created during construction of the six new multi-purpose courts and car park improvements.

The new courts benefit the sporting clubs based at the site – Tea Tree Gully Tennis Club, Tea Tree Gully Netball Club, Strikers Netball Club and Banksia Park Netball Club.

The new multipurpose courts are available for free public use during daylight hours, outside of sporting club commitments.

Additional off-street parking spaces were also created.

The City of Tea Tree Gully funded 72% ($910,000) of the project, with 28% ($350,000) funded by the State Government of South Australia.
