A community garden will be established by St Luke’s Anglican Church at Modbury, thanks to a $6,000 community grant.

The grant was one of 20 grants approved by Tea Tree Gully Council last week, with $40,000 in total allocated for a range of projects and equipment to benefit our community. 

Grants will be officially presented later in June at the Civic Centre, Modbury.

Groups to receive funding

  • Ardtornish Primary School (Pedal Prix Team), $1,500 to buy a laptop computer
  • Christian Outreach Centre (Lifeforce Church), $2,000 to buy and install an oven
  • Edmund Rice Services Limited (Edmund Rice Camps SA) $1,500 to buy tablet devices
  • Golden Grove Central Districts Baseball Club Inc. $1,500 to buy storage equipment
  • Golden Grove Little Athletics Centre,  $2,000 to buy two electronic starting kits
  • Hope Valley Uniting Church, $2,000 to buy tables and a coffee machine
  • Modbury South Primary School, $1,000 to buy coloured-coded bins
  • National Trust of South Australia (Tea Tree Gully Branch), $1,170 to buy promotional banners and print brochures
  • North East HPV Supporters Association Inc., $1,500 to buy tyres, tubes and windscreens
  • Northern Turners Inc., $2,965 to buy two wood-turning lathes
  • Pioneer Court Community Garden Inc., $500 to buy safety signs
  • Rollergirl Fitness Inc., $3,000 to buy roller skates and protective equipment
  • Royal Life Saving Society SA, $5,000 to develop a new arrival aquatic education program at Waterworld
  • Soul Food Christian Community Inc., $1,000 to buy cooking equipment and a freezer
  • St Lukes Anglican Church (Modbury), $6,000 to develop a community garden
  • Talk Out Loud Ltd, $1,500 to buy a sound system and microphone
  • Tea Tree Gully District Football Club, $1,500 to buy new football guernseys
  • Tea Tree Gully Gem and Mineral Club Inc., $1,350 to deliver the 2019 Gem and Mineral Show event
  • Tea Tree Gully Motocross Club Inc., $3,000 to buy three diesel water pumps
  • Tea Tree Gully Netball Club Inc., $2,000 to  training balls, match balls and coaches bags
