Two new change rooms will soon be built at Hope Valley Sporting Club to enable more people to participate in sport.
This is part of a $900,000 upgrade of the club by the City of Tea Tree Gully, which will also result in a new kitchen and bar being installed.
The change rooms will be constructed on the site of an old shed, currently used as a makeshift overflow change room.
Costs for the upgrade will be offset by state government grants totalling $392,000.
“These changes are about supporting grassroots sporting organisations to cater for future growth, especially now that more females are playing football and cricket,” said Felicity Birch, Manager of Recreation and Leisure Services, City of Tea Tree Gully.
Works are expected to be completed by July 2020.
