The Annual Business Plan guides Council's activities so we can progress towards our strategic vision of a thriving community with a quality lifestyle that values its people and natural environment. And with Council and the community working closely together, this is achievable.
The draft Annual Business Plan 2018-2019 outlines the key projects and services that will be provided by Council during the financial year. This plan, along with draft Asset Management Plans for Open Space and Community Wastewater Management System (CMWS), will be made available to the community on Wednesday 2 May for feedback.
Council encourages the community to provide feedback on these documents. Visit ‘Have Your Say’ for further information from 2 May.
An exciting era continues for our City in 2018-2019 as the implementation phase for a number of key initiatives carries on, some of which include:
- The Modbury Precinct Revitalisation Program
- Our new Service Centre (depot)
- Our footpath construction program
- City beautification works
- Parks upgrades
- Delivery of community programs and services
- Delivery of core essential services
Regarding Council rates, this year we are proposing a 2.5% general rate increase to cover the costs of delivering key community services and programs and ongoing infrastructure maintenance. Based on a property valued at $350,000, this would mean paying an extra 67 cents per week or $35 per year.
You can also share your feedback and ask questions at the 22 May Council meeting from 7.30-8.30pm at the Civic Centre, 571 Montague Road, Modbury.
We continue to be committed to ensuring a long term sustainable financial future for our City and welcome our community’s feedback.
