Illegally dumped mulch at local reserves is causing a headache for Tea Tree Gully Council.
Council workers are having to stop programmed works to spread what is generally low quality dumped mulch, plus repair track marks often left by trucks, according to Council horticulturalist Mick Medic.
“Sometimes the mulch is so bad that we have to dispose of it. It’s a real waste of Council time and resources,” said Mick.
Illegally dumped mulch has been a problem for many years, but is believed to have increased in recent years.
If you see small non-Council trucks dumping mulch in a Council reserve, please call us immediately on 8397 7444 with the truck registration details and the name of the business if displayed on the truck.
