Reconstruction work at Kelly Road in Modbury North is finally underway, with contractors busy working to complete all major works by Wednesday 7 March.

Major structural work has been carried out on the section of Kelly Road between Milne and Montague Roads, and a new asphalt surface has been laid, all to provide a smoother and safer road for commuters.

The $800,000 upgrade is being funded through the Australian Government’s Roads to Recovery program.

Work has also started on improving the Kelly Road roundabout and nearby Montague Road bus stop, which is being funded by the State Government’s Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure.

Project Supervisor Adam Kelly said the Kelly Road roundabout and intersecting roads will be much safer and will provide a better experience for road users once all works are complete.

‘All of the main works are expected to be completed by the first week of March, with ancillary works expected to take a further two weeks.’

While we apologies for the inconvenience and can understand commuter frustration, we ask all road users to please be patient, adhere to the sign posted speed limits and follow the traffic controller's directions.
