A $1.7 million streetscape makeover is underway on a section of Reservoir Road at Modbury, from North East to Montague roads.

Overhead power lines are being moved underground in a bid to beautify the area.

This will be followed by installation of a new footpath on the western side of the road and a protected pedestrian crossing over Reservoir Road.

To further beautify the area, landscaping, including the planting of new street trees to provide additional shade.

It is expected the undergrounding of power lines will be completed by April 2021, while the remaining works should finished by June 2021.

Upon completion, this joint project with SA Power Networks could potentially help raise property prices in the area and improve the reliability of power supply

Council will contribute $870,000 to achieve this, with the State Government funding the remainder.
