Every year South Australians generate millions of tonnes of waste. This includes plastic packaging, clothing and more.

So what can we do? Turn it into art!

The City of Tea Tree Gully is inviting artists to be part of Remade, a Fringe 2021 exhibition at Gallery 1855 to open on 14 February.

To be part of this exhibition, artworks must be upcycled and repurposed materials from nature, industry or home.

Artworks can incorporate found objects, textures, mark making, collage, nature dyed fabrics, grasses, mono-prints - the opportunities are almost endless. They can be 2D or 3D, and can consist of several interrelated units, but no larger than one-metre squared.

Artwork needs to be made either in the last 12 months, or before February 2021. Applications, with details on what you are going to exhibit, must be received by 5pm 1 December 2020. There is no participation fee for this exhibition.

Gallery 1855 is renown for community exhibitions on a theme, including the current Besties exhibition about dogs, as well as previous exhibitions about tattoos and dolls.
