Athletics clubs connect come and try

Published 24 October 2018

Over 450 children joined in Clubs Connect, an annual recreation and sports program coordinated by the City of Tea Tree Gully, in recent school holidays.

Fourteen local clubs offered school-aged children a free chance to try sports and activities through the program, such as athletics, horse riding and indoor soccer.

The Clubs Connect program has grown substantially since its introduction just three years ago, with 151 children participating in 2016 and 76 children participating in 2017.

“The program has hit the spot with local families,” said Tim Heath, Sport and Recreation Development Officer at the City of Tea Tree Gully.

“It’s a win-win for families and sporting clubs. Kids have fun trying new sports and clubs have the chance to possibly recruit new members. ”
