Pen Portraits - Pioneer poster exhibition

Next date: Thursday, 09 May 2024 | 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM

Pioneer’s SA presents ‘Pen Portraits’. This is a special poster display about some of the early settlers in the north and north-eastern areas of Adelaide.

Read short stories of some of the men, women and children who journeyed halfway around the world in pursuit of a better life.

They farewelled family, friends and familiar places, heading for an uncertain future. The exhibition will allow you to read their biographies presented in short story format and contemplate the way things used to be.

Perhaps the names William Pedler & John Smart sound familiar? What about Harriet Cox or Ellen Williams? Perhaps your ancestors were also pioneers in the area? We would love to hear their stories too and add them to the ‘tree’.

Available for viewing during library opening hours from Thursday 9 until Tuesday 21 May.
