Welcome to your new living room!
Celebrate the library's new look at our Family Fun Day on Saturday 15 June!
Tea Tree Gully Library is more colourful and welcoming than ever. A modern new look has been revealed after several months of work, focused on improving customer experience.
Changes include a vibrant new colour scheme, a larger, more spacious entrance, new carpet and smaller, individual customer service points.
There's still more to come, which will take place in June.
Don't worry if you couldn't return your library items during the time we were closed because we waived the regular $2.60 notice fee and extended holds and loans.
Why did this happen?
It's been 16 years since Tea Tree Gully Library opened and with over five million people through our doors, our fittings were definitely showing it! We have upgraded our facilities and technology to deliver a better customer experience for you, to be more available to assist with your enquiries.
Total cost of works was approximately $833,000, funded from existing Council building works funds.
New opening hours
You asked. We listened! The library will open from 9am weekdays starting 1 July, after overwhelming feedback.
The earlier starting time has come as a result of customer feedback, particularly parents of young children, who requested the earlier time to suit their schedules.
Weekend opening hours will remain unchanged.
Our survey results
In November 2018 we surveyed over 400 customers to see what they thought of our customer service, and were overwhelmed to receive a 98 per cent satisfaction rating! We hope these renovations make our Library even better.
The survey was designed by Colmar Brunton, and the 60 hours of interviewing took place over 7 days, ensuring coverage across all open hours of the Library across one week.
