The Road and Cycle Safety Centre makes learning fun for children ages 5-12 years.

Bookings taken for:

The centre's road network, in miniature, gives children real-life experience as they learn essential safety skills including how to:

  • Read traffic signals
  • Walk across railway and school crossings
  • Negotiate roundabouts and gutters
  • Recognise traffic signs and line marking
  • Cycle on roads or footpaths

Each session includes:

  • A trained instructor
  • Bikes available in sizes 12 and 16 (with stabilisers) and 20, 22 and 24, or you can bring your own
  • Helmets are available or you can bring your own
  • A small fruit juice or bottled water

Participants are required to wear enclosed shoes and comfortable clothing for cycling.-

Birthday parties 

Why not have your child’s next birthday party at the Road and Cycle Safety Centre? We have bikes and helmets available for use, properly fitted by trained instructor – or feel free to bring along your own bikes and helmets too! We have a function room, trestle tables available for use, a microwave if needed and lots of chairs for adults to sit on.

Who: The centre offers birthday parties for children aged 5-12 years. Minimum number of children is 10, maximum number of children is 20 (you can still attend the birthday party with less than 10 children, however will be charged for 10 children - the minimum amount).

When: Parties are offered in 2-hour blocks, between hours of 10am - 4pm on weekends (some Friday evening times are available from 5pm – 7pm).

Cost: $12.90 per child. This includes the hire of the facility, instructor, safety program at the commencement of the party, use of bikes and helmets with full and exclusive use of the track. A non-refundable deposit of $129 (payment for the first 10 children) is required.

You’re welcome to bring in your own food, drinks, party cake and party bags – we just ask you to consume these outside of the building please.

School class groups

Sessions are 1.5 hours in duration and are tailored to suit the age of the students. Each session starts with a group discussion on road safety, followed by practising safe cycling skills. Up to 30 children per session.

Cost is $7.25 per student - no deposit required. Bookings essential.

 School holiday programs

Road safety education lessons are held during school holidays for children from 5-12 years of age.

Sessions start with a group discussion on road safety, followed by practising safe cycling skills and are 2 hours in duration. Up to 30 children per session. No deposit required.

Costs:

  • $11.35 per child
  • $19.60 for 2 children from same family
  • $28.50 for 3 children from same family

OSHC

Lessons are 2 hours in duration and are tailored to suit the age of the students. Each session starts with a group discussion on road safety, followed by practising safe cycling skills. Up to 30 children per session.

Cost is $12.90 per child - no deposit required. Bookings essential.

Scout/guide/cub groups
