The Road and Cycle Safety Centre makes learning fun for children ages 5-12 years.

Bookings taken for:

The centre's road network, in miniature, gives children real-life experience as they learn essential safety skills including how to:

  • Read traffic signals
  • Walk across railway and school crossings
  • Negotiate roundabouts and gutters
  • Recognise traffic signs and line marking
  • Cycle on roads or footpaths

Each session includes:

  • A trained instructor
  • Bikes available in sizes 12 and 16 (with stabilisers) and 20, 22 and 24, or you can bring your own
  • Helmets are available or you can bring your own
  • A small fruit juice or bottled water

Participants are required to wear enclosed shoes and comfortable clothing for cycling.-

Group bookings

Birthday parties 

The centre is a popular venue for birthday parties for children aged 5-12 years. 

The facility can be hired on weekends for the following sessions:

  • 10am - 12pm
  • 2pm - 4pm

Cost is $12.50 per child. A non-refundable deposit of $125 (payment for the first 10 children) is required within 14 days of the booking. These sessions are extremely popular, book early to avoid disappointment. Please bring your own food and extra drinks. A microwave oven is available for use. Up to 20 children per session.

School class groups

Sessions are 1.5 hours in duration and are tailored to suit the age of the students. Each session starts with a group discussion on road safety, followed by practising safe cycling skills. Up to 30 children per session.

Cost is $7.00 per student. Bookings essential.

School holiday program

Road safety education lessons are held during school holidays for children from 5-12 years of age.

Sessions start with a group discussion on road safety, followed by practising safe cycling skills and are 2 hours in duration. Up to 30 children per session.

Costs:

  • $11.00 per child
  • $19.00 for 2 children from same family
  • $27.50 for 3 children from same family

Scout/guide/cub groups

Lessons are 1.5 hours in duration and are tailored to suit the age of the students. Each session starts with a group discussion on road safety, followed by practising safe cycling skills. Up to 30 children per session.

Cost is $12.50 per child. Bookings essential.
