The Road and Cycle Safety Centre makes learning how to ride fun for children of all ages. The enclosed open space has a mini-road network which gives children a real-life experience as they learn how to ride in a safe and controlled environment.

Virtual tour of the Road and Cycle Safety Centre
Suitable for children aged 4 – 13 years old.
The school holiday program teaches road safety skills to children, including how to:
- Read traffic signals
- Walk across railway and school crossings
- Negotiate roundabouts and gutters
- Recognise traffic signs and line marking
- Cycle on roads or footpaths
Each session includes:
- Bikes available in sizes 12 and 16 (some with training wheels and also balance bikes) and 20, 22 and 24, or you can bring your own
- Helmets are available or you can bring your own
- A small fruit juice or bottled water
Sessions are 2 hours in duration: 9.30 – 11.30am and are tailored to suit the age of the attendees.
Each session starts with a group discussion on road safety, followed by a track orientation before practising safe cycling skills. Up to 30 children per session.
Participants are required to wear enclosed shoes and comfortable clothing for cycling.
Costs:
- $12 per child
- $22 for 2 children from same family
- $30 for 3 children from same family

- Bikes available in sizes 12 and 16 (some with training wheels and also balance bikes) and 20, 22 and 24, or you can bring your own

Participants are required to wear enclosed shoes and comfortable clothing for cycling.
Sessions are 1.5 hours in duration and are tailored to suit the age of the students. Each session starts with a group discussion on road safety, followed by a track orientation before practising safe cycling skills. Children will get approximately 60 minutes of riding time (times may vary depending on how long it takes to fit all children with appropriate sized bikes and helmets). Up to 30 children per session.
Cost: $7.50 per student. No deposit required for these sessions as your school will be invoiced. Bookings essential.

Need help teaching your child to learn how to ride, or want to learn how to ride yourself? We can provide 1-on-1 lessons with a qualified instructor who can guide your child/you on how to ride a bike. Lessons are 1 hour in duration and are individually tailored to the participants needs. We can also cater for children/adults on the spectrum or those who have special needs – please enquire with us. Bikes and helmets available for use or you can bring your own.
Cost is $20 per hour, per session. Booking essential.

Children aged 1–4 years old
The Centre offers exclusive groups to pre-school aged children that enables them to navigate the mini-road network - with workable traffic lights, pedestrian crossings, a train crossing and roundabout.
Minimal safety information will be delivered as this session is more about children gaining confidence riding bikes in a safe, enclosed space so parents/carers can closely keep an eye on children - who have so much fun!
These sessions are particularly designed for playgroups, family day carers, parent groups etc. Sessions are 1.5 hours in duration.
You can BYO any snacks and drinks you need, plus we have a kitchenette facility to heat bottles up/boil the kettle. Up to 30 children per session. BYO bikes and helmets (the centres bikes and helmets are available to use, however we cannot guarantee enough appropriate sizes therefore, we recommend you BYO. Please enquire when you book if you require this option).
