Guy Sebastian

Guy Sebastian is one of Australia’s most popular and successful artists. He is the only Australian male artist to have ever achieved six number one singles and two number one albums in chart history. He has been awarded over 61 platinum awards, he has won 4 ARIA awards and garnered over 30 ARIA nominations and is even going to host the 2019 ARIAs. He has performed for Oprah Winfrey, the Queen and the Pope and his latest smash hit single ‘Choir’ has broken records as the most song played on Aussie radio for six consecutive weeks. In 2019 he joined the panel of Superstar Coaches on The Voice Australia, and has been announced to return for The Voice 2020. Guy will perform popular Christmas songs and help the crowd get into the Christmas spirit!

Oscar Bridges

Oscar Bridges is back for a second year to be part of the Civic Park Carols. Fresh from filming three junior musicals in New York with iTheatrics, Oscar continues to pursue his passion for singing and dancing. Making his professional debut at 10, Oscar has performed in over 19 musical theatre productions as well as sung the national anthem for events such as Tour Down Under, the Adelaide Christmas Pageant, Adelaide 500 and Adelaide 36ers. Oscar is thrilled to be back at Civic Park Carols to help everyone celebrate his favourite time of year.

Stephanie Cole

At 24, Stephanie has been singing, dancing and acting for most of her life. Her love for performing has given her the opportunity to perform at many events such as SANFL grand finals, Elder Park Carols, Tour Down Under and the Royal Adelaide Show. In 2016, Stephanie produced and performed her own cabaret at the Adelaide Fringe Festival and has extensive experience in musical theatre. Stephanie is currently working as a vocal coach at her church, Hope Chapel. She feels honoured to be part of the Civic Park Carols and hopes you all have a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

Zyke Compson-Harris

Adelaide born star Zkye has gravitated towards music from a young age. Her first album "Beyond the Pane" garnered a devoted following of fans eager to see where Zkye's talent would lead. Since then Zyke has released another two albums, "In this Case" and "Just The Way It Goes" which established her as a fixture in the American music scene, and an emerging force to be reckoned with. Zyke has opened for Stevie Nicks at Botanic Park in 2017 and has received numerous Blues vocal awards with her band Zyke Blue. Joining us back on the Civic Park Carols stage this year, Zyke is sure to bring back her exciting flair and unmistakable talent.

Festival Statesmen Chorus

Formed in 2009 by Musical Director and educator Jonathan Bligh, The Festival Statesmen Chorus is a dynamic all-male A Cappella vocal group. With repertoire ranging from contemporary to classical, this chorus exists to provide a platform for Adelaide singers to achieve vocal and performance excellence. The chorus has headlined a number of choral festivals across Australia and regularly runs workshops for secondary school students. The lads have won a whole swag of awards over the years in various genres and have hosted 3 sold-out shows in the Adelaide Fringe. Bringing a fresh sound and upbeat vibe The Festival Statemen Chorus are sure to be a welcome addition to the Civic Park Carols stage in 2019!

The Grinch is up to his old tricks again, this time he is back in town to try and ruin Christmas once and for all. But with the help of some of our special Christmas fairies & magical elf friends, he is stopped in his tracks! With a joyful cast, lots of singing and dancing, this stage show promises to excite and enthuse this Christmas event.

Josh Rowe

Josh Rowe has performed for opera companies around Australia, including Opera Queensland, Victoria Opera and the State Opera of South Australia. His many awards include the 2007 Queensland Arts Council Performing Arts Scholarship and Runner Up in the Dame Joan Sutherland Awards. Josh has performed in operas including Romeo and Juliet, Lucia di Lammermoor, Nabucco, Turandot, The Magic Flute, Otello and Tosca.

Jazmine Selita Vanua

 Jazmine Vanua, a 15 year old vocalist from Adelaide, has been singing since an early age. She is greatly inspired by renowned musicians including Beyoncé, Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones, Luther Vandross and Whitney Houston. Jazmine has recently performed with the incredible Roscoe James Irwin in his breath taking tribute to Chet Baker: “Lost in a Dream”. Another first timer to the Civic Park Carols stage that is sure to bring some soul!

Young Adelaide Voices

Young Adelaide Voices is an award-winning South Australian Choir School under the Artistic Directorship of Christie Anderson.  This community based, not-for-profit organisation teaches excellence in singing, performance and musicianship and   YAV is an Adelaide UNESCO City of Music Cultural Organisation.  During this years Civic Park Carols you will be listening to YAV’s Second Concert Choir, with some of their friends from the First Concert Choir, conducted by Stephanie Eaton.

Jason Chong

Jason Chong is a comic who can headline and MC anywhere! It's all down to Jason's quick wit, a cleverness in his comedy and the passion for technology that he brings to it. Jason has performed in the Edinburgh Fringe, Adelaide Fringe and Melbourne Comedy Festival and was named Adelaide's Comic of the Year in 2010. Joining us as our Roving Reporter for Civic Park Carols in 2019, we can't wait to hear what Jason has in store to entertain the crowd throughout the show!

The Carols band, led by music director Peter Johns, has been working hard to bring another fantastic event full of songs you love. We are blessed to have such an accomplished group of talented musicians and singers to lead this event.

For their eighth fully animated feature, Illumination and Universal Pictures present The Grinch, based on Dr. Seuss' beloved holiday classic. The Grinch tells the story of a cynical grump who goes on a mission to steal Christmas, only to have his heart changed by a young girl's generous holiday spirit. Funny, heartwarming, and visually stunning, it's a universal story about the spirit of Christmas and the indomitable power of optimism. 

Modbury Primary School

Modbury Primary School has a focus on providing opportunities to develop their performing arts skills. This group of Modbury Primary School students have been putting in extra time after school to create a performance for this year's Civic Park Carols! The performance will consist of a contemporary version of the Nutcracker taking inspiration from both the movie “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” and the traditional Nutcracker Ballet.

For the second year in a row, the City of Tea Tree Gully opened up a pre-show contest to anyone who lives, works or plays in the City to go in the running to perform at Civic Park Carols 2019. Live auditions were held at Westfield Tea Tree Plaza on Thursday 21 November and we are pleased to announce the winners of our 2019 contest are:

  • Dynamic country music duo Michaela Jenke & Reid Sampson; and
  • The very talented solo artist Hannah Smedley from King's Baptist Grammar School

We can't wait for you to be blown away by these brilliant up and coming performers!

Tea Tree Gully Redbacks Band

The Tea Tree Gully Redbacks are a concert and marching band based in the north eastern area of Adelaide. The band is renowned for its choreographed marching displays incorporating dance steps and signing. Some of the band's performances include the Royal Adelaide Show, Adelaide Christmas Pageant, Anzac Day commemorations, Tour Down Under, the 20/Twenty Cricket and the Adelaide International Police Tattoo.

The Funny Farmers

The Funny Farmers - Farmer Matt, Farmer Pete and Jolly Joy the cow, are back,! Coming all the way from the funny farm to perform on Civic Park Carols stage. With their own brand of madcap musical mayhem and two part vocal “farmonies” the Funny Farmers will work their way through their list of jobs including action songs guaranteed to have you singing EE I EE I OMG what a crazy Christmas show!

Welcome to Country featuring Vonda Last and Jack Buckskin

Vonda Last is an Adelaide-based Ngaanyatjarra singer songwriter. Warm and engaging, her original songs are honest and melodic with a strong sense of the Australian landscape and way of life. Her first single release For Love of Country is regularly sung throughout South Australian primary schools.

Jack Buckskin is a Kaurna, Narungga and Wirangu man, born in the Adelaide Plains region, who has dedicated himself to learning and sharing the Kaurna language and culture. He has been heavily involved in the Kaurna revitalisation movement for more than ten years and continues to contribute to the development and teaching of the Kaurna language.

Vonda and Jack will be joining forces to deliver a breathtaking Welcome to Country and musical performance before the main show commences. What an amazing addition to the Civic Park Carols program in 2019!

Impact Entertainment

IMPACT Entertainment, presented by TIDC Performing Arts Studio is an up and coming performance company based in Adelaide offering dancers, singers and more to create specialised performances for any type of event. Most recently IMPACT has performed at the Premier's Challenge Dinner, Netball SA finals, Royal Adelaide Show, Gawler Show, Adelaide Fringe Festival, as well as multiple weddings and awards nights. This will be IMPACT's 4th year performing at Civic Park Carols and they always love being part of this fantastic night.
