Maureen Mitson

For local author, Maureen Mitson, the library has been a great help in the research, writing and launch of several of her novels, including her historical fiction trilogy featuring prominent South Australian Mary Lee, responsible for women's suffrage in SA.

Having lived in Modbury North for 44 years, Tea Tree Gully Library isn't just about books for Maureen, it's a hub for the community.

"I can't speak too highly of our local library. They helped me publish and launch my books and I could not be more grateful. And, truthfully, I have also learned about modern techno-gizmos that I'd hesitated to try."

The Tea Tree Gully Writers Group, which Maureen has been a member of since 2000, meet twice a month in the library and has also seen six other members become published authors.
