Immunisation records and history

Immunisation history statements and records can be accessed through the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) using either:

If you don’t have a myGov account or a Medicare online account, you’ll need to set them up. You will need these to use the app.

If you are unable to use Medicare online, please contact the Immunisation Team on 8397 7444 for a copy of the records.

You can also get your statements using your My Health Record. If you haven’t used My Health Record before, you need to link it to myGov. Find out more about getting proof of your vaccinations from My Health Record on the Australian Digital Health Agency website.

Immunisation records prior to 1996 are not available on the AIR and need to be obtained directly from the provider who administered them.

Please note: Clients over 14 years of age must contact Council themselves to obtain a copy of their records if they are unable to access them online.

Children who are 14 years or older

Due to privacy laws, parents are unable to access a child’s immunisation history once the child has turned 14 years of age. The child will need to access their own immunisation records via their own myGov account, or create a myGov account if they do not have one.

If your child is over 14, you can get a copy of their immunisation history statement if you have their consent. Call the AIR enquiries line and request a copy, but please note that your child will need to verify their identity and give their consent to the service officer before you will be provided with this information.

People who aren’t eligible for Medicare

If you’re not eligible for Medicare, you can get your immunisation history statements online through myGov. If you don’t have a myGov account, you can go to the myGov website to create one

To get your immunisation history statements, link the Individual Healthcare Identifiers service (IHI service) to your myGov account.

If you don’t already have an Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI) use this link to apply.
