Immunisation history statements and records can be accessed through the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) using either:

If you are unable to use Medicare online, contact Council’s Immunisation Team on 8397 7444 for a copy of the records.

Immunisation records prior to 1996 are not available on the AIR and need to be obtained directly from the provider who administered them.

Please note: Clients over 14 years of age must contact Council themselves to obtain a copy of their records if they are unable to access them online.

Children who are 14 years or older

Due to new privacy laws, parents are unable to access a child’s immunisation history once the child has turned 14 years of age. The child will need to access their own immunisation records via their own myGov account, or create a myGov account if they do not have one.

If your child is over 14, you can get a copy of their immunisation history statement if you have their consent. Call the AIR enquiries line and request a copy, but please note that your child will need to verify their identity and give their consent to the service officer before you will be provided with this information.

Have you received a letter from Medicare?

The AIR sends letters when vaccines become overdue. The Meningococcal ACWY vaccine was introduced for Year 10 students in 2019 with a free catch-up for older students under 20 years of age (age on 1 April 2019).

This vaccine may be listed as “overdue” if a student is older than Year 10 but the vaccine has not been missed, rather the letter is a way of notifying students and families that they are eligible to receive this free, single dose vaccine as part of this catch-up program.
