Request a green organics bin or Mini Muncher kitchen caddy

Published on 14 July 2021

The great green organics bin and Mini Muncher kitchen caddy giveaway is on. It's all about providing residents with the tools to help divert precious resources from landfill.

Organic waste makes up about 50% of the material residents send to landfill each week. Every 10% reduction in landfill could save around $285,000 in Solid Waste Levy charges. This money could be reinvested in more facilities and services for our community.

This initiative has been made possible through a partnership between Council, Solo Resource Recovery and Green Industries SA.

Request a Mini Muncher kitchen caddy

Our Mini Muncher giveaway has started, and we have 3,000 to give away.

This convenient bench top bin allows you to recycle organic material and food scraps with ease. Best of all, the compostable bags can be placed straight into your green organics bin for recycling into nutrient-rich compost based products. Placing food scraps into the green organics bin is much better than letting them go to landfill.

To request a Mini Muncher, including a year's supply of compostable bags, complete the Mini Muncher request form.

Request a green organics bin

If you do not have a green organics bin, Council now supplies green organics bins free of charge to City of Tea Tree Gully residents.

To request a green organics bin, fill out and submit the green organics bin request form.

All bins provided by Council remain the property of the City of Tea Tree Gully and must stay with the home should you decide to move.

Request an additional green organics bin

Households can request an additional green organic bin and collection to assist with managing their waste and recycling.

Fees are payable for an additional bin and collection. This fee includes the one-off cost of the bin hire as well as a yearly collection fee. In some cases no charge may apply.

My green organics bin needs repairing

If your green organics bin needs repairing or has been stolen, complete the damaged bin form or contact Solo Resource Recovery on 8159 5090.

If your bin can't be repaired, we will replace your existing green organics bin with a Council supplied bin.

All bins supplied by Council remain the property of the City of Tea Tree Gully and must stay with the home should you decide to move.
