In the rush to prepare Christmas lunch or dinner this year, please take a moment to consider the environmental impact it might have.

Something as simple as choosing to use regular plates and cutlery will make a positive difference to our environment.

If you do decide to use disposable plates, please consider buying paper plates rather than plastic.

Dirty paper plates can be disposed of in your green waste bin (even if they have food on them), while plastic plate , cups and cutlery go in your recycling bin once food scraps have been removed. All food scraps can also go into your green waste bin.

Be aware of the amount of plastic packaging that comes with some food items. Any unavoidable clean plastic can be dropped off at major supermarket collection sites.
