Preserving today to protect for tomorrow
Identified heritage places (including Councils 2 Cemeteries), can be found across the City and serve as tangible representations of our community’s history, culture and identity.
By protecting these places, we safeguard the stories, traditions and customs that define our community, contributing to a sense of continuity and pride. Any works planned at a heritage site needs to consider the relevant Heritage 10 Point Plans, the Cemetery Management Policy and the Cemetery Conservation Plan.
Works will require specialist heritage advice during the concept/ development phase and most likely approval under the Heritage Places Act and/or the Planning Development & Infrastructure Act to ensure the works do not negatively affect the sites heritage value and local heritage listing.
Excludes the TTG Township and any heritage sites located within the Township.
