Exhibition and workshop proposals are welcome from a wide range of South Australian artists, curators and creatives at set times throughout the year.

Gallery 1855 presents around six exhibitions annually, each varying in length. Approximately half of these are curated by the Arts and Culture Development Coordinator.

Each year, the gallery also hosts a multi‑schools exhibition, open to applications from local secondary schools. Additional exhibitions are scheduled across the year, and some of these exhibition periods are available for individuals or groups to hire all or part of the gallery space.

Gallery 1855 encourages applications that demonstrate strong potential to engage the community and inspire participation.
