Kingfisher Reserve, Modbury Heights

Native trees and grasses around a small lake area

Kingfisher Reserve is a 15-hectare natural space located along Golden Grove Road in Modbury Heights. The reserve is ideal for passive recreation, offering scenic walking and cycling paths for all to enjoy.

Extensive revegetation efforts have transformed the area into a thriving wildlife corridor, providing essential habitat for local species. The wetlands within the reserve play a key role in storm-water capture and reuse, while also supporting a diverse range of waterbirds and other wildlife.

Included within Kingfisher Reserve is a one-hectare site formerly known as Willison's Farm. In 2022, Council established a native grassland here to enhance the ecological health and biodiversity of the Dry Creek corridor.

Nearby, find a stone sculpture symbolising the historic homestead, along with a vibrant mural and a native garden that highlights local plant species suitable for home gardens.
