Verges and naturestrips
Council cuts residential and main road verges and median strips from late winter to early summer and depending on seasonal factors.
Council also cuts roadside verges to reduce fire risks and line of site obstructions for motorists. This is done at the end of spring. Cutting outside of this program is only undertaken if high growth creates risks for traffic or pedestrians. Cut grass is not collected but left on the verge.
DIT medians
Council also cares for Dept of Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) medians, which includes: mowing, slashing, applying herbicide treatment to control declared pest plants, edging and litter collection at time of mowing. DIT remain responsible for all other aspects of median management including vegetation and tree pruning.
DIT main roads are:
- Golden Grove Road
- Grand Junction Road
- Grenfell Road
- Hancock Road

- Montague Road
- Lower North East Road
