Graffiti

Council’s volunteer graffiti removal team removes graffiti from Council property to ensure that our City is kept clean for our residents.

Council will

  • Remove graffiti from public property
  • Inspect public bus shelters - excluding those with paid advertising - and paint over graffiti regularly.
  • Remove graffiti from the Council side of a private fence, if that fence is a shared fence facing a Council reserve, public road or verge (with or without a footpath).

Council will not

  • Remove graffiti from businesses
  • Remove graffiti from private fences unless the graffiti is on the council side of a shared fence bordering a reserve, public road or verge (with or without a footpath)
  • Remove graffiti from bus shelters with paid advertising.
    - To report graffiti on a bus shelter with advertising, please contact Adshel on 1800 501 402

Our Graffiti clean up team volunteer their time to help keep our public spaces free from graffiti vandals.

The team is always looking for new helpers. If you enjoy working with others, are community-spirited and would like to help with the removal of graffiti, please register your interest on our Volunteer database.

Rapid removal of graffiti is the best deterrent to this type of vandalism.
