Get involved - caring for nature
There are many ways you can help protect native flora and fauna in our City. You can join a volunteer group to care for bushland or create habitats in parks or your own garden.
Adopt a site or join a group to regenerate bushland sites in the City Tea Tree Gully.

The group started in the late 1990s in Valley View to restore the woody grasslands along Dry Creek in Adelaide’s north-eastern suburbs. Their goal is to bring back wildflowers, grasses, butterflies, and birds.
Activities include:
- planting
- habitat restoration
- weed control
- rubbish removal
- wildlife monitoring
- community engagement.
Recently, this group has been working on the Superb Fairy-wren Habitat Project at Kingfisher Reserve.

Habitat Heroes are a group of local TTG residents that are on a mission to create, restore and protect native vegetation as crucial wildlife corridors in the Tea Tree Gully council area.
We get involved in a number of projects and programs within TTG including:
- Supporting the Gardens for Wildlife program
- Supporting the Superb Fairy Wren Habitat project
- Creating wildlife habitat in our gardens at home
- Helping other residents to do their own native plant propagation and planting
- Helping Council monitor the health of bushland areas and revegetation sites in the City of Tea Tree Gully area.
Become a Habitat Hero, whether it is to create wildlife habitat in your own garden, or get involved in a project or program.
