The Watch Around Water program states that children under 5 years:

  • Must be actively supervised by a responsible person
  • Must be accompanied in the water by a responsible person
  • Must remain within arm’s reach at all times in the water

Under 5s must wear a yellow Watch Around Water wrist band.

Additionally, children under 10 years:

  • Must be actively supervised by a responsible person
  • Must be within clear view with no physical or structural barriers between the responsible person and the child

A child of limited swimming ability – regardless of age – using a flotation device, must be accompanied in the water by a responsible person at all times. Note, a child clearly capable of swimming without a flotation aid however may be using one, does not require an adult within arm’s reach.

A responsible person is defined as a parent or caregiver 16 years or older.

No flotation devices are permitted in the deep half of the main pool.

Watch Around Water ratios

Families who do not have enough adults to safely supervise children in and around the water will not be able to enter Waterworld.

While in the centre, children under 5 need to be within arm’s reach of a parent or guardian and children under 10 must be supervised at all times.

Patrons who do not abide by these rules will be asked to leave Waterworld by the Duty Manager.
